Mainly, the larvae infest rice, wheat, corn and other grains as well as their processed foods, soybeans and other beans, sesame and other oil seeds, nuts, dried fruits, cocoa, and chocolate. Females lay from 100 to 400 eggs. They develop into adults in around 2 months and life span is around 10 days. They have 3 to 5 generations a year.
